Sapeon, a Seongnam-si, South Korea-based AI semiconductor company, raised $45m in Series A funding.
The round, which brought the valuation to the company to $378m, was led by Ascent Equity Partners, with participation from GS Group affiliates, Daebo Communication & Systems Co., Hana Financial Group, Mirae Asset Venture Investment, We Ventures, and E1, among others.
The company intends to use the funds to expand operations and its development efforts.
Led by CEO Ryu Soojung, Sapeon is advancing a hyper-cloud AI processor optimally designed to process artificial intelligence tasks, using less power by efficiently processing large amount of data simultaneously.
