ECI Partners Closes Twelfth Buyout Fund, at £1 Billion

ECI Partners, a London, UK-based growth-focused, mid-market private equity firm, closed its twelfth buyout fund, ECI 12, at £1 billion.

This raise, alongside a strong re-up rate of c.95% from existing investors, also included c.£300m of new capital, with high quality investors from across the globe, including North American pension plans, European foundations as well as capital from Asia.

Led by Chris Watt, and Tom Wrenn, ECI is a private equity investor, focused on offering collaborative support to management teams. The firm invests in growth businesses valued up to £300m, investing as either a majority or a minority investor. ECI manages funds of over £2bn.

ECI has achieved:

  • long-term performance generating 2.8x gross MOIC and 35% gross IRR across 127 realised investments since 1990
  • A net IRR of 24% for investors committing to all funds since 1990
  • A track record of consistent winners across the last three fund cycles, with over 70% of investments realised at 3.0x gross MOIC and/or 30%+ gross IRR.
