Wing Cloud Raises $20M in Seed Funding

Wing Cloud

Wing Cloud, the New York-based company behind the open-source Wing Programming Language (Winglang), raised $20M in Seed funding.

The round was led by Battery Ventures, Grove Ventures, and StageOne Ventures, with participation from Secret Chord Ventures, Cerca Partners, and Operator Partners. Angel investors included Amit Agarwal, Armon Dadgar, Benny Schnaider, Zack Kanter, and others.

The company intends to use the funds to expand operations and its business reach.

Co-founded by CEO Elad Ben-Israel, and COO Shai Ber, Wing Cloud has developed Winglang, a new open-source programming language that unifies cloud infrastructure and application code into a single programming model that works across AWS, Azure, GCP, Kubernetes, serverless, and more. Designed for building distributed systems that leverage cloud infrastructure as first-class citizens, the compiler produces a ready-to-deploy package that includes both infrastructure-as-code definitions for Terraform, CloudFormation, or other cloud provisioning engines; as well as Node.js code designed to run on compute platforms such as AWS Lambda, Kubernetes, or edge platforms. The company’s tools and services allow teams to build, run, debug, and test complete cloud applications on cloud providers and a local simulation.
