StrongBó Agritech Closes €750K Seed Funding

StrongBó Agritech, a Dublin, Ireland-based provider of a hardware-enabled software solution for agriculture, raised €750K in Seed funding.

The round was led by Gallagher with participation from Enterprise Ireland via the High Potential Start-up (HPSU) programme, the 519 Growth Fund and the Grand River Agricultural Society, both based in Canada. 

The company intends to use the funds to to commercialize its device.

Led by Micheál McInerney, CEO, and co-founder and CTO Ivan Wahlrab, StrongBó provides the Automatic Animal Weighing device, a hardware-enabled software solution that automatically collects Frequent Animal Weights, which are then analysed to provide the farmer with a business intelligence platform and decision support tool. 

Since designing and testing the device on Irish farms, StrongBó has expanded internationally with an initial focus on the Canadian market. It was there that Marty Metzger, of Metzger Veterinary Services, joined the core team as an additional co-founder. StrongBó is currently based at NovaUCD in Dublin and  operates a subsidiary in Hamilton, Ontario.
