Passage Raises C$40M in Seed Funding

Passage

Passage, a Kitchener, Canada-based company that seeks to match talented immigrants to educational and career opportunities, raised C$40M (US$30M) in Seed funding.

The round was led by Drive Capital. Think + Ventures Fund II also participated.

The company intends to use the funds to build out its operational capacity and further develop its technological platform.

Led by Martin Basiri, Passage is a platform that matches international talents with Canada’s workforce needs. This platform serves as a comprehensive tool and companion, providing guidance and resources for newcomers, such as educational and career opportunities, to begin their journey to a new life in Canada.

The funding will also help Passage execute its first pilot project – which aims to help more than 100 female-identifying students from Afghanistan access Canadian educational opportunities with clear career paths to fields facing acute worker shortages across the nation.
