Doormat, a Toronto, Canada-based legal tech company, raised $1.25M in Pre-Seed funding.
The round was led by Alate Partners with participation from The LegalTech Fund, Erin Bury of Willful, Brandon Chu formerly of Shopify, alongside additional angel investors.
The company intends to use the funds to expand operations and its business reach.
Led by CEO Robert Saunders, Doormat is a real estate lawyer that combines proptech and legal tech to provide a solution that works on critical stage of the homeownership experience through an online personalized experience where buyers and sellers can communicate, negotiate, and complete their transactions, all within a user-friendly and secure environment.
Through the online platform, the company aims to bring transparency and simplicity to legal real estate services – from home buying and selling to mortgage refinancing to property ownership changes.
