Tema Global, a New York-based company that provides an ETF platform focused on expert-led, institutional grade thematic ETFs, raised an undisclosed amount of funding.
Backers included Index, Accel and Zinal. Jane Gladstone, Jonathan Rubinstein, Martin Gilbert, and Michael Spencer.
The company intends to use the funds to expand access to tier investment managers and innovative themes for the benefit of the investment community.
Led by founder Maurits Pot, Tema is an SEC registered investment management firm focused on active ETF investing and innovative infrastructure. Its proprietary ETFs will be actively managed by internal fund management teams with years of deep industry expertise in each defined theme. These themes include underpenetrated areas across reshoring, biotechnology, financial inclusion, environmental commodities, regulated monopolies, the Asian middle class, and dominant consumer brands.
It will launch actively managed ETFs that offer defined exposure with risk management and industry expertise.
