Raptor Technologies, a Houston, TX-based company which specializes in school safety software, acquired SchoolPass, a Gaithersburg, MD-based provider of cloud-based attendance automation, dismissal automation, visitor management and emergency management software for K-12 schools.

The amount of the deal was not disclosed.

With the acquisition, Raptor Technologies will expand its school safety software portfolio and add attendance automation and dismissal management.

Led by Mark Ruiters, founder and CEO, who joined Raptor Technologies as its new chief strategy officer, SchoolPass is a K-12 platform helping schools manage attendance, campus movement, and campus wellness, in the cloud. Schools can consolidate the arrival, screening, and departure of students, staff, parents, and visitors in one place, while enabling schools to more account for everyone on campus throughout the school day, especially during an emergency.

The company partners with Student Information System (SIS) platforms such as PowerSchool, Blackbaud, Veracross, Senior Systems, and many others to sync parent, student, and attendance data.

Founded in 2002 and led by CEO Gray Hall, Raptor Technologies has partnered with over 53,000 schools globally, including over 5,000 K-12 US school districts, to provide integrated visitor, volunteer, emergency management, and safeguarding software and services covering the spectrum of school and student safety.
