Helical Fusion, a Tokyo, Japan-based provider of a helical fusion reactor, raised USD 6M in Seed funding.
The round was led by SBI Investment.
The company intends to use the funds advance the development of a helical fusion reactor and related core technologies, and to actively collaborate with global funding and R&D partners.
Led by CEO Takaya Taguchi, Helical Fusion is a fusion company with the vision of “Humanity evolved with nuclear fusion”. The company adopts the helical method (a type of stellarator), which is one of the most promising magnetic field confinement methods as a commercial fusion reactor and has particularly excellent performance in terms of long-term stable operation and maintenance.
