Riot, a French startup building a cybersecurity awareness platform, raised $12m in Series A funding.

The round was led by Base10 with participation from Y Combinator, Funders Club, Founders Future, Guy Podjarny, Severin Hacker, Ilkka Paananen, Alex Bouaziz and Tamar Yehoshua.

The company intends to use the funds to expand operations and its business reach.

Riot (YC W20) provides an all-in-one cybersecurity awareness platform for businesses and their employees. It protects a company by preparing employees to deal with cyberattacks.

Riot’s main interface is a chatbot called Albert, which is available on Slack, Microsoft Teams and the web. Its cybersecurity courses are interactive, with content that dynamically changes depending on each employee’s cybersecurity knowledge.

The company recently passed $2M in annual recurring revenue, and today reaches 100,000 employees across clients like Deel, Intercom and Le Monde.
