Fresho Raises £8M in Series A Funding

Fresho, a London, UK-based company that aims to make food supply chains more sustainable between restaurants and their suppliers, raised £38M in Series A funding.

The round was led by Primorus Investments, Capital Zed, Andrew Sypkes, and Second Quarter Ventures.

The company intends to use the funds to accelerate across UK and US.

Co-founded by Managing Directors James Andronis and Huw Birrell, Fresho provides a solution for tens of thousands of chefs who reach for their device to choose exact quantities for their needs, in an online shopping experience specifically tailored to the B2B food industry. It enables:

  • buyers to see live prices and specials, allowing for informed product choices and assistance in food cost management
  • suppliers to receive the order immediately in a single dashboard and to leverage real time sales data to manage purchasing efficiently and eliminates wastage before it becomes an issue.

More than 38,000 foodservice venues across the UK, Australia, New Zealand, and the United States have now used the innovative software solution, with more than £700 million ($1 billion USD) processed through the platform annually. Fresho’s user base consists of restaurants, hotels, hospitals, cafes, schools, farm shops, QSRs and independent retailers. In London, a number of iconic venues place orders with Fresho. These include Michelin star rated restaurant Wild Honey within Sofitel St James, Polpo, 1 Lombard Street, and the Bingham Riverhouse.

Fresho now employs over 60 people after launching in the UK in 2021.
