BeSafe Group, a Rome, Italy-based Insurtech startup, raised EUR1.2m in funding.
The round was led by CDP Venture Capital Sgr and Prana Ventures SICAF.
The company intends to use the funds to accelerate the development of technology and insurance services for tourism in Italy and Europe.
Led by Alessandro Bartolucci, CEO, BeSafe provides BeSafe Rate, the prepaid rate with travel insurance included.
The company’s services increase direct bookings, facilitate advance payment and offer guests services by solving the problem of booking and paying for a trip and losing money in case of cancellation. BeSafe Rate was created to eliminate this worry, providing the accommodation structures a guarantee of payment, thanks to a rate with cancellation insurance. When selected, the insurance company refunds the guest in case of cancellation and the accommodation structure is relieved of this refund burden so its revenues are guaranteed.
Another service delivered is BeSafe Pay, the PSD2-compliant hospitality payment gateway that automates the management of hotel bookings with a focus on data security and cost savings.
Both products are now included in BeSafe Suite the “all-in-one” solution designed for the hospitality industry.
