kWh Analytics, a San Francisco, CA-based Climate Insurance company, raised $20m in Series B funding.
Lacuna Sustainable Investments led the round.
The company intends to use the funds to:
- develop additional solutions to support solar, wind, and storage asset owners and investors,
- bring these solutions to new international markets.
Led by Richard Matsui, CEO, kWh Analytics is a provider of Climate Insurance by using a proprietary database of renewable energy project performance of over 300,000 operating assets to underwrite insurance policies for renewable energy, backed by trusted insurers. To date, the company has insured over $3 billion of American solar power plants with its first insurance product, the Solar Revenue Put.
