Mauna Kea Semiconductors Raises $12.8M in Pre-A+ Funding

Mauna Kea Semiconductors, a San Jose, CA-based low power ultra-wideband (UWB) company, closed its $12.8m Series Pre-A+ funding.

The round was led by Lightspeed China Partners with participation from Qiming Venture and Ivy Capital.

Led by Dr. Yifeng Zhang, Co-founder and CEO, Mauna Kea Semiconductors is a a low power ultra-wideband (UWB) company, which provides a complete high precision location solution for device OEMs and ODMs. The company’s location solutions are currently being integrated into smartphones and automobiles and are poised to bolster consumer and industrial IoT applications ranging from smart homes and cities to automobiles, wearables, and health monitoring devices.

Additionally, Mauna Kea announced a partnership with semiconductor solutions provider Infineon Technologies and industrial and automotive system integrator ThinkSeed Systems to enable secure ranging and location in IoT applications.
