Yay Lunch

Yay Lunch, a NYC-based a meal solution that aims to improve food quality and access where kids learn and play, raised $12M in Series A funding.

The round, which brought total financing to date to $15.5M since launching in 2018, was led by Valor Siren Ventures (VSV), with participation from Animo Ventures, Reach Capital, Alpaca Ventures, Pritzker Group and TMV.

The company plans to use the funding to optimize their offering, build their team, expand their geographic footprint, and deepen penetration through service to more schools in their current markets.

Founded by Christina Liva Diiorio and Derek Mansfield, Yay Lunch is a new business concept with the mission to empower local communities by connecting people to food made daily. The company is providing a meal solution to kids at school by also supporting local restaurants and removing the hassle for school administrators and parents when it comes to supplying meals to kids. Since launching a pilot in Spring 2018, Yay Lunch has expanded and serves over 100 schools throughout DC, Baltimore, Central Virginia, Atlanta and Philadelphia.
