Sophie’s Kitchen Inc., a Las Vegas, NV-based plant-based food company, raised $5.6m in funding.
The round was led by Billy Goat Brands Ltd. (CSE: GOAT).
The company intends to use the funds for the growth of its brand and product innovation.
Founded in 2010 and led by CEO Dr. Miles Woodruff, Sophie’s Kitchen has created seafood alternatives that enable people to eat plant-based food. The brand is free of preservatives; is gluten-free, soy-free, and non-GMO. The product portfolio includes: fish fillets, shrimps, crab cakes, smoked salmon, toona, black pepper and sea salt.
