IBM Acquires Catalogic Software’s Copy Data Management Business

Catalogic Software, a Woodcliff Lake, NJ-based provider of smart data protection solutions, sold its Catalogic ECX™ copy data management business to IBM (NYSE: IBM).

The details of the deal were not disclosed.  

Divesting this business enables Catalogic to focus on its enterprise and cloud data protection and data security solutions, including its recently launched Kubernetes and cloud native data protection service, CloudCasa.

Led by Ken Barth, chief executive officer, Catalogic Software is a modern data protection company providing innovative backup and recovery solutions including its flagship DPX product, enabling IT organizations to protect, secure and leverage their data. Its CloudCasa offers cloud data protection, backup and disaster recovery as a service for Kubernetes applications and cloud data services.  

Catalogic will continue to partner with IBM to support its existing ECX customer base.
