Catch Co., a Chicago, IL-based fishing brand, content, and commerce platform, closed a $38m Series B funding, which included both primary and secondary capital.
The round was led by True Ventures with participation from TechNexus.
The company, which has to date raised $56m in total funding, intends to use the funds to grow its team, expand into new product categories, build out a library of video content, and test new shopping experiences.
Founded in 2012 by Ross Gordon, CEO, as a monthly fishing tackle subscription offering called Mystery Tackle Box, Catch Co. has since evolved to also offer its own ecommerce platform called Karl’s Bait & Tackle and a range of compelling content like the original series Unchartered.
The company recently expanded distribution of its own products into third-party retailers nationwide, including Dick’s Sporting Goods and Walmart.
