ZenSports Closes $2.4M Series A Funding

ZenSports, a West Hollywood, Calif.-based mobile sports betting app that offers both a traditional book plus peer-to-peer sports betting platform using fiat or cryptocurrencies, closed a $2.4m Series A funding.

Backers included Gaingels, MicroVentures, Calm Ventures, Twenty Five Ventures and Allied Ventures Partners, as well as other individual angel investors.

The company intends to use the funds to complete its current U.S. gaming license applications that it has on file in Nevada and Tennessee. There are other betting sites in the market that include skin gambling and betting in the gaming industry. ZenSports is a mobile sports betting app that offers a traditional mobile sports book and a peer-to-peer sports betting marketplace.

The company also offers the ability to fund and wager via cryptocurrencies (in addition to traditional fiat methods) and has created its own cryptocurrency utility token called SPORTS, which consumers can use for placing bets, earning discounted betting fees, and getting cash back, bonuses, and other rewards.

ZenSports, which is available for download in the App Store (iOS) and the website, also recently signed a partnership deal with Boulter Developments to eventually expand into Colorado.
