Zentrela, a Hamilton, Canada-based neurotech startup, completed an $850K seed funding round.

The round was led by Jornic Ventures.

The company intends to use the funds to further commercialize its proprietary EEG test for cannabis impairment and create a scientific database of cannabis product effects.

Led by Israel Gasperin, CEO and founder, Zentrela is a neurotech startup advancing the understanding of the brain effects of recreational cannabis and is creating a scientific database of cannabis product effects.

The company’s approach combines proprietary artificial intelligence algorithms with deep neuroscience expertise to decode electrical brain activity and convert it into meaningful information.

In 2019, the company had already raised $1.2M in funding from the Ontario Brain Institute and various government agencies to fund prototype development and clinical trials.
