Pulumi Raises $37.5M in Series B Funding

Pulumi, a Seattle, WA-based cloud engineering company, secured $37.5M in Series B funding.

The round was led by NEA with participation from Madrona Venture Group and Tola Capital. In conjunction with the funding, NEA partner Aaron Jacobson will join S. Somasegar, managing director of Madrona Venture Group and Sheila Gulati, managing director of Tola Capital, on Pulumi’s board of directors.

The company, which brought the total raised to date to $57.5M, intends to use the funds to accelerate research and development along with expanding sales and marketing.

Led by Founder and CEO Joe Duffy, Pulumi gives cloud engineering teams the ability to leverage the cloud in all aspects of their software, including infrastructure provisioning, architecture, policy and testing. The solution supports all public, private and hybrid clouds, including Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform and Kubernetes, in addition to 50+ other infrastructure providers, using familiar languages and tools, including Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, Go and .NET/C#.

Pulumi today also announced the expansion of its executive team, having appointed software industry veterans Jay Wampold as CMO, Lindsay Marolich as senior director of demand generation, Kevin Kotecki as VP of sales and Lee-Ming Zen as VP of engineering.
