Butternut Box, a UK-based fresh food delivery brand for dogs in Europe, received a strategic investment of undisclosed amount.
Backers included the European fund of L Catterton, White Star Capital and Five Seasons Ventures.
The company intends to use the funds for operational enhancements as well as its growth and diversification in existing and new channels.
Founded in 2016 by Kevin Glynn and David Nolan, Butternut is a human-grade, cooked fresh dog food company with personalized dietary offering and a digital approach. Since launching, Butternut has produced more than 20 million meals for dogs across the UK. Looking ahead, the company will be expanding into more channels and dog categories such as treats, supplements, toys and accessories.
