LeapMind, Inc., a Tokyo, Japan-based deep learning solution provider for enterprises, raised US$10m in funding.
The round was led by Intel Capital with participation from GMO VenturePartners, Inc., Visionnaire Ventures, Itochu Technology Ventures, Inc., NTT DATA Corporation, Innovative Venture Fund Investment Limited Partnership and Archetype Ventures Inc.
The company intends to use the funds for deep learning R&D in software and hardware domains, for recruitment and retention of talented employees, and for business development and expanding sales operations.
Led by Soichi Matsuda, CEO, LeapMind id advancing an embedded deep learning solution, called JUIZ, to make deep learning accessible for broader applications. The technology enables deep learning in small computing environments with limited power, providing customers with easy access to the complex benefits of deep learning and expanding its application into IoT, consumer electronics and robotics.
