The round was led by new investor Goldman Sachs Growth Equity (GS Growth) with participation from existing investor Elephant. In conjunction with the funding, Hans Sherman, a Vice President in Goldman Sachs’ Merchant Banking Division, will join the KnowBe4 board of directors.
The company intends to use the funds for international growth and product development.
Led by Stu Sjouwerman, Founder and CEO, Kevin Mitnick, Chief Hacking Officer, KnowBe4 provides a platform for security awareness training and simulated phishing attacks. Used by more than 13,000 organizations worldwide, KnowBe4’s solution provides training that combines simulated phishing attacks, case studies, demonstration videos and tests with real-world scenarios to help employees understand the mechanisms of spam, phishing, spear phishing, malware and social engineering.
KnowBe4’s platform is used across many industries, including highly regulated fields such as finance, healthcare, energy, government and insurance.
The company has European headquarters in London, England.
