Greenspring Associates, a Owings Mills, Maryland and Palo Alto, California-based venture capital firm, closed its fourth opportunity fund.
According to a regulatory form filed with the SEC, Greenspring Opportunities IV, L.P., raised $325m from 201 investors.
Founded in 2000 and led by founder Ashton Newhall and Jim Lim, Greenspring Associates invests in established and emerging venture capital fund managers, in expansion stage venture-backed companies and in secondary investments in venture capital funds and companies.
The firm has invested in approx. 100 funds while the current portfolio includes 40 companies.
