Rokid Corporation, Ltd., a US/China-based artificial intelligence (AI) and robotics company, raised in excess of $50m in Series B funding.
The round, which post-funding valued the company at $450m, was led by Advantech with participation from existing investors IDG Capital Partners and Walden International.
The company intends to use the funds for product development and team expansion, with a focus on research, hardware/software development, design, and user experience in U.S. and China.
Founded in July of 2014 by Misa Zhu, CEO, Rokid is developing a smart home device featuring advanced AI and deep learning that enriches a consumer’s life by proactively delivering information on-demand, providing entertainment, and performing tasks via voice and visual interactions.
The company employs a global staff of over 90 in offices in San Francisco, Calif., Hangzhou and Beijing, China.
