CollegeVine Secures $3.1M In Series A Funding

CollegeVine-Logo-Large LogoCollegeVine, a Cambridge, Mass.-based edtech startup specializing in high school mentoring for college applications, closed a $3.1m Series A funding.

The round was led by Morningside Technology Ventures with participation from New York-based University Ventures. Morningside’s Gerald Chan has joined CollegeVine’s Board of Directors, in cojunction with the funding.

The company intends to use the funds to build out its technology platform and product suite, grow the team, and accelerate growth.

Founded as Admissions Hero in 2013 and led by Jon Carson, CEO, CollegeVine is a provider of one-on-one mentorship, college applications guidance, college essay assistance, tutoring, and test prep. The company uses a near peer model of matching talented college students with high schoolers to help them with the college application process.
The company today employs almost 300 college students as consultants.
