Expa Capital, a San Francisco, CA-based startup studio, is to raise its second fund.
According to a regulatory form filed with the SEC, Expa Capital II, LLC, has a target of $100m. No funds have been raised yet.
The doc lists COO and partner Roberto Sanabria as person related to the raise.
Led by Garrett Camp, co-founder of Uber and StumbleUpon, who was joined by Hooman Radfar (founder of AddThis), Naveen Selvadurai (co-founder of Foursquare), Milun Tesovic (founder of Metrolyrics), Sanabria (Google, Linkedin) and other in-house experts in SF & NYC, Expa works with proven founders to develop and launch new companies specializing in product strategy, system design and user experience.
Is does not consider itself neither as an incubator nor a VC firm but a studio founding new companies based on their own ideas. Anyways, it sometimes collaborates with startup founders to help create the brand, build the prototype and iterate towards product-market-fit.
Founded companies include Uber, real estate platform Haus, creative platform Mix, food delivery startup Ando, place discovery platform Spot, shopping expert platform Operator fintech startup Current, business intelligence platform Metabase, tastemaker community Kit, dining experience platform Reserve and direct artist-support platform Drip.
