Galactic Exchange Closes Seed Financing Round

Galactic Exchange, Inc., a Menlo Park, CA-based developer of software to enable the fast deployment and management of container-enabled compute clusters for Big Data, closed a seed financing round.

The amount of the deal was not disclosed.

Backers included Signia Venture Partners and Floodgate. In conjunction with the funding, Rick Thompson, a founding Partner at Signia, joined the board of Galactic Exchange.

Led by Rob Mustarde, President & CEO, Galactic Exchange has been developing technology to simplify the deployment of Hadoop/Spark based infrastructures and associated analytics applications, both on-premise and in the cloud.
The company’s ClusterGX™ platform can be deployed with no big data or clustering experience.
Galactic Exchange provides a community edition, which will be free to download from its web site, an enterprise edition with added functionality and support services as well as a full-service, which will provide professional services to assist in on-premise or in-cloud deployments and implementation of a client’s big data strategy.
