Zoomdata, a Reston, VA-based developer of a visual analytics solution for big data, closed a $25m Series C equity financing.
The round was led by Goldman Sachs’ Principal Strategic Investments Group with participation from new investor Comcast Ventures and previous investors Accel, Columbus Nova Technology Partners, New Enterprise Associates and Razor’s Edge. As part of this strategic investment, Rana Yared, Managing Director in the Principal Strategic Investments Group at Goldman Sachs, was named to the Zoomdata board of directors. Hilary Packer, Managing Director in the Technology Division at Goldman Sachs, will join Zoomdata’s Advisory Board.
The company, which has raised a total of $47.2m in total, intends to use the funds to expand operations. It is hiring.
Led by Justin Langseth, CEO, Zoomdata develops a visual analytics solution for big data which allows business users to visually consume data quickly, across billions of rows of data. Zoomdata Fusion enables interactive analytics across disparate data sources, blending real-time streams and historical data, and unifying enterprise data with data in the cloud. It runs on premises, in the cloud or embedded in an application.
