Bright Cellars, a Milwaukee, WI-based personalized wine subscription service, closed a $2m in seed funding.
The round was led CSA Partners.
The company intends to use the funds to continue building out a complete member experience and grow the team.
Founded in 2014 by two MIT graduates – CEO Richard Yau and CTO Joseph Laurendi, Bright Cellars provides a platform that matches members to wine based on a machine-learning algorithm developed by its MIT-grad co-founders. After each wine is reviewed by members, the company’s engine learns more about their actual preferences.
In May 2015, Bright Cellars graduated from the gener8tor program, a top 15 start-up accelerator.
The company has 11 employees.
