Bluebee, a Delft, The Netherlands-based developer of a cloud-based, accelerated genomics solution, raised €1.75m (approx. $1.90m).
Backers included Belgian investment firm Buysse & Partners and existing shareholder Delft University of Technology.
The company intends to use the funds to bring its genomics solution to clinicians and labs.
Founded in 2011 as a spin-off of the Delft University of Technology and Imperial College London and led by Hans Cobben, CEO, Bluebee offers a cloud-based, distributed computing solution combined with accelerated hardware to enable mass sequencing data volumes to be processed in extremely short timeframes.
The platform has been piloted by Tier 1 clinical research labs such as DKFZ (German Cancer Research Center).
