Interset, an Ottawa, Canada-based advanced threat detection platform provider, closed a $10M round of funding.
The round was led by Toba Capital, and Informatica, (Nasdaq:INFA) with participation from existing investors Anthem Venture Partners and Telesystem Ltd.
The company intends to use the funds to expand the capabilities, accelerate adoption of its advanced threat detection platform among new customers and develop OEM partnerships.
Led by president and CEO Dale Quayle, Interset provides a platform that enables IP driven companies to deliver an effective defense against targeted attacks and data breaches in industries such as manufacturing, defense, technology, energy and pharmaceuticals.
The platform works by connecting big data feeds from previously siloed repositories and data sources including application and operating system logs, identity repositories, existing security tools and endpoints — the places where critical threat data resides. It then correlates millions of these events, connecting the interrelated activities of identities, machines and assets. The data is delivered to a patent-pending behavioral analytics engine, which applies multiple mathematical frameworks to identify and compute threats from either a single dataset, or events across multiple datasets.
