Green D Fund Holds $1.5M Initial Close for Maiden Fund

Green D Fund raised $1.5m as an initial close of its maiden fund.

Its second and final close is slated for January 30, 2015. The investor base includes 40 Dartmouth College alums.

Led by Michael Collins (Dartmouth ’86), the fund will focus on backing new Dartmouth alumni-led businesses making 12 to 18 investments over the next 18 months.
Deals will be sourced from across the Dartmouth network, then vetted, selected, and tracked by an experienced Investment Committee consisting of Dartmouth alumni. The fund will also support portfolio companies by connecting them to other alums for networking and mentoring. Compliance, back office, investor relations, and various other support functions will be fulfilled by the Green D Fund’s advisor, Launch Angels, which specializes in establishing and supporting alumni angel groups.

The Green D Fund is an independent, for-profit company and is not affiliated with nor officially sanctioned by Dartmouth College.
