Truecaller Raises $60M

trueTruecaller, a Stockholm, Sweden-based verified mobile phone community, raised $60M in funding.

Backers included Atomico, Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers and Sequoia Capital. In conjunction withe the funding, John Doerr (KPCB), Mattias Ljungman, and Jerry Murdock, joined Truecaller’s board while Atomico founder and Skype co-founder Niklas Zennström joined as adviser.

Founded in 2009 by Nami Zarringhalam and Alan Mamedi, Truecaller allows users to expand their contact list, reach people they want to find, identify who is calling and protects mobile identity from unwanted spammers.
The app is available on the web and as an app for the iPhone, Android, BlackBerry, Symbian S60, Series 40, and Windows Phone.
