Facebook Inc. (Nasdaq: FB) acquired PrivateCore, a Palo Alto, Calif.-based network-security firm.
The amount of the transaction was not disclosed.
Co-founded in 2012 by CEO Oded Horovitz and CTO Steve Weis, PrivateCore leverages advancements in attestation, virtualization and cryptography to validate the integrity of remote servers as well as protect data-in-use. The PrivateCore vCage Manager software can remotely attest the integrity of Linux servers while vCage Host software transparently protects any application while in use on commodity x86 servers.
