Adobe, one of the world’s leading creation software companies, acquired Oculus Medium, Facebook’s virtual reality sculpting tool.
The amount of the deal was not disclosed.
Adobe is one of the world’s leading creation software companies, committed to providing 3D and immersive tools for artists, including Adobe Dimension and the Substance tools suite.
The acquisition will enable Adobe to accelerate 3D & immersive offerings.
Medium was born as an innovative VR authoring tool at Facebook’s Oculus division. The creative tool enables users to sculpt, model and paint in an immersive environment – to create characters, objects, environments, expressive works of art, etc.
The app is currently still free when users activate their new Oculus Touch controllers on the Oculus Store. More features, improvements, and other developments will come from Adobe in 2020 as Medium continues to evolve.
