According to PeHub, BarkBox, a New York City-based e-commerce and content company for dog lovers, raised $15m in Series B funding.
Backers included Resolute VC, RRE Ventures, Lerer Ventures, Bertelsmann Digital Media Investments, Vast Ventures, Box Group, Slow Ventures, Daher Capital and CAA Ventures.
Founded in 2011 by Matt Meeker and Henrik Werdelin, the company provides subscribers with a monthly box with four or more selected products and presents for dogs. It can include toys, bones, all-natural treats, hygiene products or new gadgets.
A portion of proceeds from each box will go to help doggies-in-need in the framework of a giving program.
