Rant Media Network, an Irvine, CA-based sports, lifestyle and entertainment media company, closed $4m in financing.
The round was led by current investor and strategic advisor Barry Honig and new investors Gannett Company’s former CEO and Chairman Craig Dubow and Southpaw Asset Management with participation from existing investors Hudson Bay Capital and Roth Capital.
The company, which has now raised a total of $7.3m, intends to use the funds to further accelerate its growth and expand its network.
Led by Brett Rosin, CEO, Rant Media Network is a creator and distributor of online media, and owns and operates a network of opinionated sports, lifestyle, and entertainment content. Its portfolio of sites includes RantSports, which covers all major world sports, leagues, teams, players and sporting events, RantLifestyle, which delivers celebrity, dining, and entertainment content of interest to men, and RantChic, which creates content for women on topics including beauty and fashion, food and health and shopping.
Across its sites, the company leverages a network of more than 400 paid writers across the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom to provide male and female enthusiasts with entertaining and engaging content.
