Light Chaser Animation Studios, a Beijing, China-based developer of animated films with a focus on Chinese culture, raised $20m in Series B funding.
The round was led by GGV Capital and Chengwei Capital with participation from existing investors Hillhouse Capital and IDG.
Founded in March 2013 by Gary Wang, Light Chaser Animation Studios aims to create animated films with Chinese cultural touch. The production for its first 3D animated feature film – Little Door Spirits – will be completed by July 2015 with a budget of RMB70m (US$12m).
