UberMedia Raises $8M

UberMedialogoUberMedia, a Pasadena, CA-based provider of a platform that leverages social and location signals to improve results of mobile advertising campaigns, raised $8m in funding.

Backers included Gordon Crawford and Blue Chip Ventures, which joined existing investors Jim Breyer of Accel Partners, Danny Rimer of Index Ventures, Steve Case of Revolution Ventures, and Josh Kopelman of First Round Capital, among others.

The company intends to use the funds to accelerate product development.

Led by Bill Gross, founder and CEO, UberMedia provides a cross-screen mobile advertising platform that leverages social signals, interests, and location history to identify consumers’ “Emotional Intent” and enable advertisers to reach consumers when they are most receptive.
A network company of Idealab, the company launched UberAds in May of 2013, the platform has been used by brands in verticals including automotive, entertainment, retail, packaged goods, electronics, and travel.
