SHOP.CA Raises $31M in Series B Funding

shop.caSHOP.CA, a Canadian online shopping platform, raised $31m in Series B funding.

Backers included new investors Shaw Ventures, existing investors Torstar Corporation, Slaight Communications, Difference Capital and a group of SHOP.CA team members.

The company, which has now raised $52m in less than two years, will use the capital to continue to build its proprietary technology and its merchant network, execute customer loyalty initiatives, and make digital marketing and marketing partnerships.

Launched in July 2012 by Drew Green, CEO, and Michael Tait, SHOP.CA operates a large online store that features over 3 million products (Baby & Child, Bags, Books & eBooks, Clothing, Computers, Electronics, Games, Garden, Health & Beauty, Home, Appliances, House & Home, Jewellery, Movies, Musical Instruments, Office Supplies, Outdoor, Pet Supplies, Photo & Video, Shoes, Software, Sporting Goods, Tools & Hardware, Toys & Hobbies, Video Games, Watches) by new brands via daily sales events.
