Talend, a Los Altos, CA-based provider of global big data integration software, completed a $40m funding.
Backers included Bpifrance and Iris Capital and existing investor Silver Lake Sumeru. In conjunction with the funding, Bpifrance will join Talend’s Board of Directors.
The company intends to use the funds to accelerate innovation, augment its portfolio and support its commercialization efforts.
Led by Mike Tuchen, CEO, Bertrand Diard, co-founder and chief strategy officer, Talend provides an application and business process integration platform to integrate small projects and enterprise-wide implementations. It runs natively inside Hadoop and leverages open source-driven innovation to deliver support of the latest variations of big data platforms such as Hadoop 2.0/YARN and NoSQL.
The company’s solutions are used by more than 4,000 enterprise customers worldwide.
It has major offices in North America, Europe and Asia, and a global network of technical and services partners.
