eASIC Corporation, a Santa Clara, California-based provider of NEW ASIC devices, received a strategic equity investment from Seagate Technology (NASDAQ:STX).
The amount of the transaction was not released.
In addition to the investment, eASIC and Seagate also are exploring opportunities to jointly develop custom silicon solutions for Seagate’s portfolio of Solid State Drives (SSD).
Led by Ronnie Vasishta, President and CEO, eASIC is a fabless semiconductor company offering NEW ASIC devices aimed at reducing the cost and time-to-production of customized semiconductor devices. The company’s patented technology uses Via-layer customizable routing to produce ASIC and System-on-Chip designs.
eASIC’s investors include Khosla Ventures, Kleiner Perkins Caufield and Byers (KPCB), Crescendo Ventures, Advanced Equities Incorporated and Evergreen Partners.
