Pentalum Technologies Receives Strategic Investment from GE Ventures

Pentalum Technologies, a Rehovot, Israel-based developer of a wind Light Detection and Ranging system (LiDAR) for remote sensing of wind, received a strategic investment from GE Ventures.

The amount of the funding – part of a Series C round – was not disclosed.

The company intends to use the funds for continued development and market penetration of its LiDAR systems for wind turbine control.

Led by Sagie Tsadka, Co-Founder and CEO, Pentalum develops the SpiDAR(TM), an innovative pulse wind LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) system, for remote sensing of wind. The system targets all three main wind farm applications:
– wind resource assessment,
– wind turbine control and
– wind forecasting.
