Kit Check Raises $10.4M in Series A Funding

Kit Check, a Washington, DC-based provider of automated pharmacy kit processing software for hospitals, raised $10.4m in Series A funding.

The round was led by New Leaf Venture Partners, with participation from Sands Capital Ventures, Easton Capital Investment Group and LionBird.

Led by CEO Kevin MacDonald, Kit Check provides automated hospital pharmacy kit processing solutions to help physicians and nurses access to critical care medications. Examples include Code Trays and Crash Carts used to treat cardiac arrest and other emergencies, anesthesia kits used in the operating room and Pediatric Intubation kits. Each kit or tray is individually packed with anywhere from 10 to 200 items that care providers may need to address specific or urgent medical situations..

Launched in 2012,  Kit Check software and Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) tags are used by seven hospitals (with nine more scheduled for implementation within the next month).
