Linkwell Health, a Needham, MA-based developer of health and wellness consumer engagement platforms, raised $11m in Series C funding.
The round was led by WellPoint (NYSE: WLP), with participation from existing investors Spark Capital and HLM Venture Partners.
The company intends to use the capital increase adoption of its platform to consumers across multiple channels.
Led by CEO Gregg Michaelson, Linkwell Health develops customized incentive and guidance programs for health plans to distribute to their members to improve their health and wellness. The company’s platform currently reaches the members of 22 major health plans, including Humana, Health Net, and WellPoint. Members also gain access to coupons for products from brands such as Kellogg’s, Campbell’s, Unilever and Proctor & Gamble.
