NatureShare (fka Green Mountain Digital), a Woodstock, VT-based provider of nature and outdoor lifestyle mobile apps, has closed a $1.5m convertible note funding.
Backers include follow-on investor Vermont Seed Capital Fund.
Led by CEO Brendan Cahill, NatureShare is developing a new social platform for the outdoor vertical. It it has published more more than 30 mobile apps including Audubon Birds of North America, Orvis Fly Fishing: The Ultimate Guide, GardenMinder, and Sailing World: Knots and Splices for iOS, Android, Kindle Fire, Nook, and other mobile operating systems.
The company intends to use the funding to launch its social platform, continue to improve and add to its existing catalog of apps, and build out its technology team.
David McGowan, CEO of Invitel, a digital triple-play service provider based in Budapest, Hungary, is joining NatureShare’s board of directors.
