Koding, a San Francisco, CA-based cloud development environment and collaboration platform for developers, has raised $2m in Series A funding.
Backers include RTP Ventures and Greycroft Partners.
Led by co-founder and CEO Devrim Yasar, Koding provides a cloud-based software development platform that allows developers to code from anywhere on any device with a browser. It is preconfigured and automatically provisioned with a free development server that runs ruby, python, php, perl, & node.js. Development MySQL and MongoDB servers are provided free to all users.
Koding also enables developers to collaborate with their peers, build a team, share applications and code with the community, which currently has over 40,000 developers.
