Happy Elements Raises $30M in Series B Funding

Happy Elements, a Beijing, China-based social gaming developer, has raised $30m in Series B funding.

The round was led by Legend Capital, with participation from existing investor DCM.

The company intends to use the new funding to recruit several producers and managers to expand globally, (mainly in Asia) and to make an entry into the mobile entertainment market with the launch of several new smartphone games in 2012.

Founded in 2009 and led by CEO Haining Wang, Happy Elements launched its first social game My Fishbowl on Facebook in August 2009. Titles released also include Lounge Bar (Mixi) and My Kingdom (Facebook), and others released on Japanese, Chinese Mainland and South Korean social networking platforms such as Tencent, Renren, Kaixin, Hangames, Cyworld, Daum, Netlog, Hyves, StudiVZ and Orkut.

The company also has an office in Japan.
